The curtain in this motel reminded me of the "red weed" from "War of the Worlds", the window could not be closed and sometimes things would fall to the ground for no reason.

Memphis – Lorraine Motel and protest

The Lorraine Motel, 450 Mulberry St., where Martin Luther King Jr. was killed on 4 April 1968.
Lots more about the Lorraine here: www.associatedcontent.com/article/17771/the_story_of_the_…
The article mentions the protest of Jackie Smith, who has maintained a permanent vigil of protest for 18 years-plus on the sidewalk across Mulberry Street. She thinks the money and energy spent on the National Civil Rights Museum (which is what the Lorraine and adjacent venues have been turned into) would be better spent on public housing for children and women, or for a community center.

The M Casino and Motel

This motel is located about 10 miles south of the main Las Vegas Strip on S. Las Vegas Blvd. It is one of the nicest motels that we have ever seen (and the slots were pretty good). We had never come across it before but an employee said that it is about two years old.

Austin Motel sign & pool

The Austin Motel – The only place to stay in Austin, TX. They win "best place to stay" from the Austin Chronicle damn near every year. They also have what I think is the best motel pool in America.
